- Intro - explaining the projects content.
- Question One
  • The question written out.
  • One or two graphs.
  • Description of the graphs - focus on centre, spread and shape.
  • Statistics - mean, median, mode, range for each group.
  • Description of statistics (can be combined with description of graphs).
 - Question Two
  • The question written out.
  • One or two graphs.
  • Description of graphs - just needs to explain what the graphs shows you.
- Question Three (all OPTIONAL, but the more you do the higher your potential grade)
  • The question written out.
  • One or two graphs.
  • Description of the graphs - focus on centre, spread and shape.
  • Statistics - mean, median, mode, range for each group.
  • Description of statistics (can be combined with description of graphs).
 - Conclusion - answering all of the questions you investigated and summarising your findings.

Note that in total you must have three graphs including:
  • One back-to-back stem and leaf graph.
  • One histogram or bar graph.
  • One other graph e.g. frequency tabl, pie graph, strip graph, dot plot.
You will each be given an overall grade based on the quality of your project and the amount you contributed.

Details of homework

Homework

Most of the homework you do in this class will be from the Maths Mate homework book which is sold at the resource centre.

Each week you will be required to complete
one page. This will be due on Tuesday the following week. Your responsibility is to:
  • Take the correct sheet home each week and record the due date.
  • Try your hardest on all questions.
  • Bring the sheet back on the due date with your parent's signature.

We will mark these in class and monitor your progress and improvement.

Occasionally I will provide separate homework related to a topic we are studying. This may have a different due date than normal and will be notified in class and on this blog.

Welcome

Welcome 9UN.

This blog will be updated weekly and will give you information on topics studied that week, homework and upcoming tests.

If you have a gmail account you can subscribe to this blog. I am also happy for you to ask questions here, but I don't check it every night!

For this class you need:
  • 2 exercise books (1E5, 1E8, 1J5 or 1J8)
  • A calculator (preferably Casio fx-82AU PLUS)
  • Ruler and pens
  • Maths homework book ($17 from the resource centre)

Thanks for reading,

Miss Skinner
